The Bear Community Center is a multi purpose building offered to group, family, and nonprofit community events.This beautiful building overlooks the ice ponds and offers a rustic interior, with features such as:

Rental Fees
- Private Groups (Family, Company, Business, Group etc.)
User Fee: $125 Per Day/Use includes lobby, meeting room, serving kitchen & use of restrooms.
Cleaning and Damage Deposit: Minimum $150 (Local Check or Cash)
Shelter Reservation Fee: Separate charge $25 w/building reservation only
Alcohol Permit Fee: $20

- Private Non-Profit Groups (Scouts, Church Groups, Service Groups etc.)
User Fee:  $75 Per Day/Use includes lobby, meeting room, serving kitchen & use of restrooms.
Cleaning and Damage Deposit: Minimum 150 (Local Check or Cash)
Shelter Reservation Fee:  Separate charge $25 w/building reservation only
Alcohol Permit Fee: $20

User Fee:  No Charge Per Day/Use Includes lobby, meeting room, kitchen & use of restrooms.
Cleaning and Damage Deposit: Minimum $150 as determined by Director
Shelter Reservation Fee:  No Charge
Alcohol Permit: $20 and Deposit, if required

Building Use that is “Outside the Agency Scope of Services” as determined by the Director    
User Fee:  $50 Per Day/Use includes lobby, meeting room, serving kitchen & use of restrooms
Cleaning and Damage Deposit: Minimum $150 (Local Check or Cash)
Shelter Reservation Fee: Separate charge $25 w/building reservation only
Alcohol Permit: $20 and deposit, if required

$45 for groups 0-25; $40 for groups 26-75; $45 for groups 76-100

With approximately 6 acres of open space, this area is Evanston's Central Park to meet the needs of various community groups.

User Policies and Procedures

- “For Profit”, activities or religious services, as defined by EPRD Policy, may not rent the building.
- User Fee payment is required at the time of reservation and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Cleaning and Damage deposit due one week prior to reservation date.  Local check or cash only.

- Bldg. Keys will be checked out to Person Responsible one (1) day prior to the reservations. ($10 Key Replacement Fee)

- No Smoking in building.
- An alcohol permit is required to consume alcohol in the building.  City Open Container Law in effect.
- Must clean and secure building as specified on the check-off list provided at the time of reservation.
- Staff will inspect the building for cleaning, security, and damage before and after each use.
- Deposits will be released after staff inspection of the building and the key is returned.
- The building may be reserved back to back if a minimum of 2 hours is allowed between reservations.  
- Shelter may be used by the general public or reserved for separate groups at the same time building is reserved, unless a separated shelter reservation fee is paid with the building reservation fee.
- Maximum Size Group and Building Capacity 60 Class Room, 20 Lobby, and 100 Shelter.

- Hours available for reservations: 8 am to 11 pm.  Hours can be extended upon request and approval.
- No frying or cooking of food items permitted in the kitchen.  Warming and serving kitchen only.
- No public phone service available.

- No Ice Skates allowed in building or restrooms
- No Fireworks are allowed on the BEAR Project, except by permit.
