Bear Ice Ponds

Open Daily: 10 am - 10 pm

The Ice Ponds will be lighted for ice skating each night from dusk until 10:00 pm. 

Location: Bear River Greenway off Bear River Drive adjacent to the BEAR Community Center building.
Natural ice skating conditions: 10 inches fair to good ice skating conditions, the ice is rough in spots. 

Rent Ice Skates at the Rec Center during business hours:
Monday - Friday 5:00 am - 8:00 pm ; 
Weekends 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Fee: $5 per pair, per day - return the next day by 4:00 pm

$20 maximum per immediate family, per day - return the next day by 4:00 pm 

Skate on Natural Ice, Weather Permitting 
Minimum 12 inches of ice is required for skating
The ice thickness is checked and maintained daily by the Evanston Parks Department. 

 

Cross Country Ski/ Snow Shoe Rentals

Full Day - $15

Weekend - $20
